A delegation from the National Assembly’s Council of Ethnic Minorities, headed by its Chairman, Ksor Phuoc, is in Cambodia for a visit from December 16-21.
Receiving the Vietnamese NA delegation, Cambodia’s NA Chairman Heng Somrin said that the visit was an opportunity to strengthen and deepen the traditional ties between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Cambodian People’s Party and the two States.
Cambodia hopes to learn from Vietnam’s experiences in the implementation of policies regarding ethnic minorities, he said.
The two sides informed each other about the current political and social situations in their countries, as well as their achievements in the implementation of Party and State policies regarding ethnic minorities.
The Vietnamese NA delegation also met with Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng and worked with NA deputies from Rattana Kiri and Mondolkiri provinces.
They are scheduled to visit the western provinces of Pursat and Battambang to observe the lives of the ethnic minorities in those communities. (VNA)
