The Ministry of Health has recorded 487 cases of A/H1N1 in Cambodia, an expert from the Anti-Communicable Disease Department reported on Thursday.
The department’s vice-director, Ly Sovann, told DAP News Cambodia by phone that “In the fiftieth week, the Cambodian victims increased to about 487 cases.”
“If we compare with last week, the figures are steady with deaths and low by number of infected with 7 cases,” Sovann added.
He added that about 300,000 doses vaccine pledged by the World Health Organization (WHO) will arrive in December.
Infections have been recorded in 13 provinces, including Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Kandal, Takeo, Kampong Speu, Battam Bang, Kampong Chhnang, Svay Rieng, Kampong Cham, Modulkiri, Kampot, Prey Veng and Banteay Meanchey, he stressed.
The Cambodian vaccines will primarily go to medical workers, babies less than two years of age and pregnant women.
