Individuals on a gap year vacation to south-east Asia might want to take in Cambodia as part of their trip.
Writing for the Daily Mail, Amy Watkins has suggested sailing down the Mekong River could be the ideal excursion for visitors to the nation.
The journalist noted the waterways are "the lifeblood of the country", with fishermen working, women cleaning and children playing along the banks.
She observed the largest cruise ship on the Mekong Delta is La Marguerite, which carries 92 passengers between the Angkor Wat temples in Siem Reap and Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam.
It has been constructed in the style of a colonial steamer and features traditional Indo-Chinese patterns throughout.
People looking to purchase a souvenir from the journey can do so at the ship’s on-board gift shop, Ms Watkins added.
