PM Hun Sen Meets with Cambodian Youth Delegation

Phnom Penh, October 13, 2010 AKP -- Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia received here on Oct. 12 a Cambodian youth delegation who is scheduled to attend the 37th ASEAN Youth Ship program.

On the occasion, Samdech Hun Sen recommended Cambodian youth delegation to keep their dignity, spread out the Cambodia’s development, great culture and tradition to the youths of other countries, and bring back experiences and knowledge to help develop the country.

A 29-member-youth-delegation will participate in a 52-day-ASEAN Youth Ship Program to be started from Oct. 25 to Dec. 15, which will dock in Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and fly to Laos, Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s assistant Eang Sophalleth said.

ASEAN Youth Ship Program was set up since 1974 in order to emerge ideas and strengthen the ties of friendship among ASEAN member youths with Japanese youth.--AKP

Japan Seeks Potential Investment in Cambodia

Phnom Penh, October 13, 2010 AKP -- A group of young Japanese investors led by Mr. Takei Nobuyki met here on Oct. 12 with Cambodia’s Senate First Vice President Prince Sisowath Chivan Monirak to seek the potential investment in Cambodia.

During the meeting, Mr. Takei Nobuyki informed Prince Sisowath Chivan Monirak that this was the third of its kind which the Japanese young investors sought the potential investment in Cambodia, especially in agricultural sector, establishing a marble producing factory, restaurants and hotels as well.

In reply, Prince Sisowath Chivan Monirak warmly welcomed and supported the young Japanese investors, investments in Cambodia.--AKP

Party Leader Welcomes Neighbour Army Chiefs

Phnom Penh, October 13, 2010 AKP -- The General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nong Duc Manh, has called the Chinese, Lao and Cambodian Defence Ministers’ visit as evidence of their strong support for Vietnam in the capacity of the ASEAN chair, according to VNA.

The Party leader made the statement during his reception of Minister Liang Guanglie from China, Minister Douangchay Phichit from Laos, and Minister Tea Banh from Cambodia, in Hanoi on October 10, who came to attend the first ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting plus (ADMM+).

Manh expressed satisfaction over the recent fine development in all fields of comprehensive strategic partnership with China, traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Laos and the good neighbourliness and long-lasting relations with Cambodia.

He highlighted close and effective cooperation between the Vietnam armed forces with their counterparts from the three neighbours.

He reiterated the nation’s unswerving policy of treasuring the good neighbourliness with China, Laos and Cambodia in the interest of individual countries as well as for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world as a whole.

All the three army chiefs of countries lauded the careful preparation by Vietnam for the first ADMM+, which they said was an important forum for military officers from the 10-member ASEAN and its partner armies to exchange views, promote mutual understanding and accelerate cooperation for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.

Cambodian Defence Minister Tea Banh, who is also Deputy Prime Minister, pledged that the Cambodia army would maintain strong cooperation with the Vietnam People’s Army, thus contributing to the development of traditional solidarity and close neighbourliness between the two countries.

The host did not forget to convey his wishes for the best of health to leaders of the three neighbouring countries, especially their top leaders, namely General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President Hu Jintao, General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President Chummali Saynhasone, and Cambodian King Sihamoni.--AKP
