HCM City, Dec 2 -– The Vietnam-Cambodia Youth Meeting 2008 kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on Dec. 1 with the participation of 50 outstanding Cambodian delegates and 500 local people.
The event, which took place following the visits to Vietnam by Prime Minister Hun Sen and Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) Chairman Samdech Chea Sim, is expected to further consolidate solidarity and neighborliness between the two nations.
Delivering speech at the opening ceremony, Men Kuon, member of the CPP Central Committee, expressed his belief that the traditional solidarity between young people of the two countries would be maintained and further developed in the future.
The meeting will run until Dec. 3 in Ho Chi Minh City and continue in southern Dong Nai province and the Central Highlands resort city of Da Lat from Dec. 4-7. (PNA/VNA)
