Former Cambodian king Norodom Sihanouk has been successfully treated for a third bout of cancer.
The 86-year-old royal posted a handwritten letter on his website, in which he thanked his "most eminent" and "devoted" Chinese doctors, who have been treating him in Beijing since he left Cambodia last July.
He added: "Indeed, the terrific result of their (incomparable) care is here: my third cancer (B-cell lymphoma) has completely disappeared."
Sihanouk - who announced his latest cancer last December - was first diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma, a cancer affecting blood cells which help the immune system, in 1993.
Although the cancer, which started in his prostate, was successfully treated, it returned in 2005 in his stomach.
Sihanouk has also suffered from many other illnesses including diabetes and hypertension.
Sihanouk - one of Asia's longest-serving monarchs - quit the throne in October 2004, blaming health problems and old age.
Although his eldest son, Norodom Sihamoni, took over, he still remains a prominent figure in Cambodia.
