BODIES FOUND NEAR PAILIN POND
Two bodies were found by villagers near a pond in Thmey village, Tuol Lvea commune, Pailin town and province, on Monday. Police said a 45-year-old man, Sorn Phalla, who had just moved from Battambang province to the village, was hanging on a tree near the pond, and the other body, that of Ream Sokny, a 36-year-old woman, was lying nearby. Police said they believed the woman had been strangled, and that her spinal cord was broken. They said they suspected Ream Sokny was killed by Sorn Phalla and that he then hanged himself.

MEN ACCUSED OF KILLING BLIND MAN
Four people were arrested in connection with the fatal beating of a blind amputee in Phlov Mnoirs commune, Battambang province. The victim, who was employed to guard a farm where he raises ducks, was Kaen Phally, 52. The four people were all under the age of 26. They are believed to have broken into the farm to steal the ducks, then when they saw the victim, they stabbed and beat the man. The amputee fell unconscious and died the next day when he was taken to the hospital by the farm's owner.

COLLISION KILLS HUSBAND AND WIFE
A husband and wife were killed when their motorbike collided with a minibus on National Road 1 in Svay Rieng town and province on Sunday evening. The couple were apparently rushing home from a wedding party after being informed that one of their mothers had died. Pov Khny, 44, died on the scene, and his wife, Reach Rieus, 40, died at the hospital. The minibus escaped before police arrived.

STUDENT STABBED WITH SWORD
Kim Sothearin, 23, was arrested by police on suspicion of stabbing 21-year-old student Mean Sophea with a samurai sword while they were drinking at Sok Sabbay beer garden on Mao Tse-tung Boulevard on Saturday night. Mean Sophea was taken to the hospital with severe wounds.

MAN ARRESTED OVER INCEST CHARGES
Sampov Loun district police in Battambang on Friday arrested a 60-year-old man on suspicion of forcing his 33-year-old daughter to fellate him. Police said that Som Soeun forced his daughter to have sex with him, and raped her when he was drunk. He was arrested after his second wife, who divorced him one month ago, reported him to police.
