Hello, Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) and Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM), on Tuesday launched the BlackBerry® Bold™ smartphone for customers in Cambodia, according to a joint press release.
The BlackBerry Bold smartphone supports tri-band HSDPA high-speed networks and comes with integrated GPS and Wi-Fi®, as well as a rich set of multimedia capabilities. Featuring lustrous black exterior, satin chrome finished frame and stylish leatherette backplate, the BlackBerry Bold smartphone is a symbol of accomplishment and aspiration. Its stunning display, sophisticated user interface and precision keyboard make the BlackBerry Bold a 'must have' for power users and successful individuals. "After the successful debut of the BlackBerry solution from hello here in May, we are happy to expand that effort by adding the 3G-enabled BlackBerry Bold to our portfolio of BlackBerry smartphones," said Syed Azmeer, the Chief Marketing Officer of hello. Based on its distribution agreement with RIM, Alcatel-Lucent is leveraging its strong local presence in the region to provide hello with the end-to-end support services for the BlackBerry solution. With Alcatel-Lucent managing integration and deployment, hello can focus on delivering customer facing services, enabling the operator to quickly meet market demand.
