HO CHI MINH CITY – In the third practice match Wednesday of their monthlong training camp in neighbouring Vietnam, the Cambodian U23 football team played out a goalless draw with the Ho Chi Minh City U21 team at the Thanh Long training centre. National coach Scott O’Donell told the Post by email: “We dominated the first half creating a lot of chances but could not put them away. The second half was more even but we still had some good chances. I was happy with most aspects of our game but our finishing was poor. We have two more games lined up before we return to Phnom Penh on November 5, ready for the BIDC Cup a few days later.”

HEINEKEN International singled out Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam as bright lights in a generally lacklustre third-quarter sales update Wednesday. In a conference call, Rene Hooft Graafland, chief financial officer of Heineken, highlighted the “very strong performance” of its Singapore-based joint venture subsidiary, Asia Pacific Breweries (APB), which produces Heineken and other beer brands for the Cambodian market. “Asia was the region with the highest percentage of growth for the Heineken brand, with over 6 percent growth across most countries,” said Graafland.
