Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen will visit Thailand early next month to take part in the first Mekong River Commission (MRC) summit at the invitation of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday.
This will be Hun Sen's first visit to Thailand this year.
In October 2009, the Cambodian premier attended the 15th Asean Summit in Hua Hin. After arriving at Hua Hin airport, he immediately criticised the Abhisit government and said Cambodia would deny the extradition of convicted former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
Cambodia's Foreign Minister Hor Namhong, Commerce Minister Cham Prasidh, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Chan Sarun, and Water Resources and Meteorology Minister Lim Kean Hor will also attend the MRC summit.
The summit will be held between April 2 and 5 in Hua Hin. A Declaration on Meeting the Needs, Keeping the Balance: Towards Sustainable Development of the Mekong River Basin will be issued at the end of the summit.
