CAMBODIA, PHNOM PENH, JULY 7, 2010-According to a confirmation of both Thai spouses who were accused of a bomb explosion ahead of the Phumi Chai Thai Party’s Central headquarters on Tuesday of June 22, 2010, The Royal Government of Cambodia’s officials absolutely rejected a report on the Thai Red-Shirt Leaders’ presence in Cambodia.

The Cambodian officials’ rejection occurred after Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva had been quoted in a report from Thailand as saying that according to a confirmation of both Thai spouses who were staying in one of the hotels in Siem Reap province in Cambodia, both of them met with the Thai Red-Shirt Leaders over there.

“The Thai Government will cooperate with the Royal Government of Cambodia in tracing and arresting the Thai Red-Shirt Leaders for committing terrorism in Bangkok,” Thai Prime Minister Abhisit said.

Mr. Tith Sothea, advisor of the Royal Government of Cambodia and spokesman of the Press and Quick Reaction Unit of the Office of the Council of Ministers, completely rejected the above-mentioned report, asserting that according to the Cambodian authority’s reports, there has so far been no presence of the Thai Red-Shirt Leaders hiding themselves in Cambodia’s territory.

“If there is a presence of the two Thai Red-Shirt Leaders in Cambodia, the Royal Government of Cambodia will make a closer cooperation with the Thai government in tracing and arresting them and return them to the Thai Government,” he confirmed.

“The Royal Government of Cambodia will take a measure to arrest the Thai Red-Shirt Leaders in Case that they are absolutely the real Thai Terrorists who were accused with concrete evidence by the Thai authority of committing terrorism in Thailand,” he stressed.

It is noted that the Cambodian authority on Monday of July 05, 2010 arrested two Thai suspects who are both wife and husband for being suspected of getting involved in a bomb explosion in front of the Phumi Chai Thai Party’s Central headquarters on Tuesday of June 22, 2010.

It was believed that one of the men was seriously injured by this bomb explosion.

Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia very deeply for making good cooperation after the Royal Government of Cambodia had returned the perpetrators to the Thai Government.

“The returning of the two Thai suspects who were involved in a bomb explosion to the Thai Government was not based on a proposal made by the Thai government, but on the international agreement on anti-terrorism, in which Cambodia is a member country.

“Cambodia’s political goodwill will help to improve Cambodia-Thailand diplomatic ties after the two nations have faced nearly two-year military clashes,” some political analysts in Cambodia said.
