Yat Bunroueng, 24, surveys Street 163 yesterday as his fellow motorbike repairman, 21-year-old Van Det, reads a notice stating that some stalls near Olympic Stadium need to move in 15 days. According to the notice, signed on Monday by Phnom Penh Governor Kep Chuktema, street and market vendors along the stadium’s east and north sides will soon need to relocate for “development in the sport sector”. Kep Chuktema could not be reached yesterday. Som Sovann, the governor of Prampi Makara district, where the stadium is located, referred questions to officials at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, who could not be reached.
