A press conference was yesterday held in celebration of the Francophonie Week, where foreign dignitaries from the five Francophone countries (France, Canada, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia) in Brunei Darussalam were present.
French Ambassador Patrick Bonneville, Canadian High Commissioner Leopold Battel, Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Binh Man, Laos Ambassador Samdy Bounkhoum and Royal Embassy of Cambodia Deputy Head of Mission Thouk Thol each spoke about their countries in relation to the Francophone phenomenon, as well as their bilateral roles with Brunei Darussalam.
Also in attendance were Cyrielle Bazin, Delphine Renaut, and Vanessa Peronny of Alliance Francaise, High Commission of Canada Trade Commissioner Peter Chen and French teachers from various schools.
The representatives from Alliance Francaise also discussed the events lined up for the Francophonie Week, which include the French Student Exhibition to be held today, and the Short Movie Night on March 11, both to be held at UBD.
Following the press conference, those present were taken on a tour around the MTSSR Students Training Kitchen.
Later, they were treated to a French cuisine - prepared by the students of MTSSR - at the MTSSR Training Restaurant.
