Chinese and Cambodian security chiefs on Tuesday vowed to strengthen cooperate against international trafficking in drugs and people, the Chinese government said, reported dpa.

China's Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu held talks with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Kheng, saying the two sides "enjoyed increasing exchanges and pragmatic cooperation," the ministry reported on its website.

The two sides signed a cooperation agreement on "prohibiting illegal trafficking and abuse of drugs," the report said.

Meng said security authorities in the two nations should work more closely to fight combat international crimes and illegal immigration.

China and Cambodia do not share a common border but can be reached via Laos or Vietnam. Cambodia and southern China are close to South-East Asia's Golden Triangle of drug production.
