A delegation of the Vietnamese embassy in Cambodia, headed by Envoy Ngo Thi Hoa, presented US$10,000 to help build a community house for overseas Vietnamese in Koh Keo and Koh Ka Ek hamlets, Pursat province, on February 14.
The delegation also handed over 100 packs of gifts, including notebooks, rulers and pens to students of poor families in these localities.
Huynh Ly, President of the Vietnamese Community Association, Pursat province’s chapter, expressed his gratitude to the Party, the State and the embassy for their care for the Vietnamese community in Cambodia in general and in Pursat province, in particular.
Over the last two years, Vietnamese enterprises in Cambodia, the army-run Viettel Telecom Company and the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Protection of Poor People, among other individuals and organisations, have raised money to build four community houses for disadvantaged overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia.
