Vietnamese and Cambodian power utilities set up a 220-kilovolt transmission line Monday to enable Vietnam to sell power to its neighbor.
The power line, connecting An Giang Province with Cambodia’s Takeo Province, can transmit 900 million-1.4 billion KWh a year, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) said.
EVN and Electricity of Cambodia officials are tying up technical and commercial issues so that EVN can sell electricity at the earliest, Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper reported.
The line was built under an agreement signed in 2003 by the two governments and a contract between the two utilities.
