The Japanese government on Monday provided US$21.4 million in aid to Cambodia for three projects. Foreign Affairs Minister Hor Namhong told reporters that the money would fund the improvement of an irrigation project in Kampong Speu province, the construction of 96 classrooms at seven primary schools in Phnom Penh and the restructuring of the government to reduce poverty. "Since 1993, Japan has provided US$177 million for infrastructure development," Hor Namhong said. "Japan remains a major donor country for Cambodia."
