FATHER-TO-BE NAMED IN WOMAN'S RAPE
Twenty-six-year-old Chhim Vin was arrested by police for allegedly raping a 22-year-old woman while she was alone in the house. The incident happened Thursday night at the victim's house in Veal Veng district, Pursat province. The suspect confessed that he had raped the woman because his wife was pregnant and about to give birth.

POLICE OFFICER WOUNDED IN BRAWL
Poipet police arrested three men for their alleged involvement in a gang fight in Poipet commune and town, Banteay Meanchey province, last Monday. The three men are Khoy Khay, 21, Kong Sokea, 31, and Seang Saing, 23. They attacked and wounded one policeman when authorities tried to quell their gang fight, police said. The cause of the fight is not yet known.

MAN STABBED TO DEATH WHILE FISHING
Chuon Phan, 44, was stabbed to death with a knife, allegedly by Ros Khnorn, 35, in a fight over a fishing lot, police said. The incident happened on Tuesday evening in Kbal Trach commune, Krakor district, Pursat province. Witnesses said the victim shot the suspect with a slingshot first.

ALLEGED BURGLAR BEATEN SENSELESS
An alleged thief was beaten senseless by villagers after he stole possessions from the house of Chub Chet, 32. The victim was handed over to police, who took him to Calmette Hospital. The event happened Thursday night in Kampong Chhnang town. The suspect is known as Yim Ratha, 27, from Kampong Chhnang province. He said he stole the goods because he needed money to pay for his mother's medical treatment in Phnom Penh.

GARMENT WORKER ACCUSED OF THIEVERY
Joirn Y Ing, 44, was detained by security guards at the Yung Va 2 garment factory for which she works after she was reportedly seen stealing two T-shirts. The factory is in Takhmao commune and town, Kandal province.

TEENS FINGERED IN ARMED ROBBERY
Four teenagers - two girls and two boys - were arrested in a raid on the Royal Palace Hotel on Monivong Boulevard, Phnom Penh, on suspicion of armed robbery. Police said four guns were found in their hotel room. The suspects ranged from 17 to 19 years old, and one was a student at Bak Tuok High School.
