MOTORBIKE THIEF CAUGHT IN THE ACT
A Vietnamese man was nabbed by Phnom Penh police as he attempted to steal the motorbike of Luy Kosal, a policeman in Meanchey District's Boeung Keng Kang 2 commune. Police identified the suspect as Vieng Yang Dong, 32, who was arrested at the scene on Saturday afternoon.

BEEF OVER COW SALE LEADS TO AX FIGHT
Thirty-six-year-old Meng Chhorn was cut to death by Lim Nang, his 23-year-old brother-in-law, in an ax fight stemming from the sale of a cow. The hostilities occurred on Saturday afternoon in Kampong Speu province's Thpong district. Meng Chhorn raised the cow, which belonged to his father, but his father and Lim Nang sold the cow without informing him. This made the victim angry, and he kept insulting his relatives until the deadly conflict broke out.

POIPET PUSHER PINCHED BY POLICE
A Banteay Meanchey man was arrested by provincial police while selling illegal drugs on Sunday morning in Poipet town. Police identified the suspect as Kaem Kosal, 42, a resident of Poipet town and commune. A hundred pills of methamphetamine were confiscated at the scene. The suspect said he bought the drug at 7,500 riels per pill.

GANGSTERS INVADE KARAOKE PARLOUR
An unnamed karaoke parlour located on Street 49 in Phsar Thmey 3 commune of Phnom Penh's Daun Penh district was attacked by eight gangsters wielding sticks and samurai swords. The incident took place around midnight on Sunday. Many items in the karaoke parlor were destroyed, and the establishment's 27-year-old owner, Sol Srey Mey, was injured with a number of cuts. The reason for the attack is still unclear, although police said they had received a tip regarding the identities of the suspects.

THIEVES PILLAGE KAMPOT HOME
Robbers stole gold, platinum and more than 5 million riels (US$1,208) from the house of 55-year-old Chheng Touch, of Kampot province's Chhouk district. The homeowner's son, 19-year-old Deng Sam Rong, was cut and wounded in the head and thigh by the thieves as they ransacked the house. The marauders fired three shots from a gun before they escaped safely, but these shots did not hit anyone.
