Cambodian Sudents Visit Japan

Cambodian students will visit Japan September 15-24 for an experience in cultural exchange between Cambodia and Japan, according to the Southeast Asia Project for Youths and Cambodia Students (SEAPYC) on Monday.

Vice General Director of Department of Education, Youth and Sports Ros Oeun said in the SEAPYC that “Cambodia and Japan provide a chance to both Japanese and Cambodian students to visit.”

“There are 40 Cambodian students who won a scholarship through the Jenesys program after they tested for 10 days,” he said “The Japanese Government is interested on human resource in Cambodia.”

There are 559 Cambodian students who Japanese Government provided the scholarships to Cambodia since 1993, he added. General Advisor of Japanese Embassy to Cambodia Kazuo Chujo said that “We change both experiences Cambodia-Japan and for Mekong river countries.”

“In early January 2009, we atten- ded to a meeting with Cambodian government council to ask for the changing both experiences for the two countries,” he said.

Kazuo added that the program would help both Japanese and Cambodian students build a brighter future.

Ros Keng, chief of the Cam-bodian Volunteer Students, said that “All of the winners will benefit when they return to their homeland.”

“The visit to Japan will help develop our country to be better,” he added.

Chan Serey Roth,a Kampong Chhnang province High School student, told DAP News Cambodia that “In my opinion, for the visit to Japan for ten days will provide us a new experience.”

Sun Veng Thong, a student at RULES, said the examination process was rigorous.
