A fortune teller was arrested on Tuesday for cheating a client out of US$30,000 since 2003. Ung Sophavy, 33, was arrested in Phnom Penh's Tuol Kork district as she was riding her motorbike along the street and her victim pointed her out to police. The victim, Me Soklim, said that the soothsayer had been borrowing money from him in instalments since 2003, but had never paid him back.

CORPS ROUND UP TOTS IN LATE-NIGHT RAID
Twenty-eight spoiled children, including four girls, were arrested Wednesday in Banteay Meanchey by O'Chrouv district police as they were walking around after midnight. Nuth Ly, O'Chrov district police chief, said that the children were arrested not only for causing trouble but simply for being out late at night. The children were released after their parents were contacted and they agreed not to let their children out so late.

PARTNERS IN CRIME THROWN IN CLINK
A man and his girlfriend were arrested Wednesday by Kampong Chhnang provincial Military Police after stealing a Honda motorbike from a livestock broker in Phnom Penh. The broker had parked his bike on the side of the road during a rainstorm and was taking refuge from the downpour when the theft occurred. The suspect, 19-year-old Kry Sichnet of the capital's Russey Keo district, allegedly drove his girlfriend on the stolen vehicle to a guesthouse in Kampong Chhnang, where authorities apprehended them and sent them back to Phnom Penh.

MOTHER THWARTS TEENAGE RAPIST
Eighteen-year-old Chhet Chhoeun, a spoiled teenager, was arrested on Monday in Kandal province after he allegedly attempted to rape an 11-year-old girl in Kandal's Leuk Dek district. The rape was fortunately stopped by the victim's mother, who arrived on the scene and intervened.

COUPLE KILLED IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT
A husband and wife were killed by a cement truck when it hit their motorbike in Meanchey district on Wednesday. Sixty-three-year-old Om Seam and 50-year-old Oum Vorn were killed instantly by the fast-moving vehicle.The driver, Meas Kena, fled the scene of the accident but was later arrested by provincial Military Police.
