A robbery in Chaum Chao commune, Dangkor district of Phnom Penh saw a vendor lose US$50,000 worth of jewelry after being assaulted, according to a local police said on Thursday.
At around 9 am, three robbers attacked the jewelry vendor near the victim’s car, hitting him on the head and making off with bag of jewelry and money, a witness said. The vendor in question, Hor Samol, 39, said that “the robbers escaped very quickly, there were three members.”
The gang had three or four members with two mopeds.
A local authority told DAP News Cambodia that “we found a pair of black shoes and one bullet, while the robber fought the victim, the gun which the robber used, maybe a K 54.”
There have been three armed robberies in Dangkor district in recent months but no-one has yet been arrested in connection with the crimes, an anonymous police source said.
