Police Death
Police in Kampong Cham province have arrested two of three suspects in connection with the apparent revenge killing of a drug squad police officer earlier this month, police said Sunday. Sor Ros, the chief of the province’s Anti-Drug Trafficking Bureau, said the arrest had been carried out by military police officers.
The victim, 41-year-old Yuk Rath Mony, was an officer working under Sor Ros. Police have said they believe he was beaten and then shot before his body was locked in his Lexus, which was left in Choeung Prey district. A national military police official who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the suspects had not yet been sent to court and charged because police were hoping to soon locate the third suspect.
