A relatively calm gameweek 26 in our fantasy league saw Jonty Press’ squad Jonty Athletic claim the Cellcard US$20 phone voucher and T-shirt for the second time this season. A full six points ahead of his closest challenger, Jonty’s 82 total relied on contributions from captain Carlos Tevez for 14 points, as well as 12 points each from Wigan’s Charles N’Zogbia and Man City’s new signing Adam Johnson. Eleven games grace the next gameweek, with transfer deadline 6:30pm this Saturday.

LOCAL rugby team Stade Khmer travel to Thailand today to compete in the annual Bangkok International 10s tournament. Stade Khmer are sending a squad comprised purely of Cambodian players, who will play group games Saturday and finals Sunday at Patana School.

The 2010 Samdech Hun Sen Cup sees all four quarterfinals playing out this weekend, with reigning champions Phnom Penh Crown taking on Wat Phnom and Build Bright United facing Naga Corp Saturday, while Rithi Sen play National Defence Minstry and Khemara Keila meet Preah Khan Reach Sunday.

National Chess tourney

The NOCC and the Chess Federation of Cambodia will organise the 2010 Samdech Techo Chess Championship, to be held at Olympic Stadium March 1-3. The competition is open to all Cambodians, with participants needing to register by this Saturday.
