MAN SURVIVES SCARY FISH SUFFOCATION
Officials in Prey Veng province say a 48-year-old farmer was lucky to escape a brush with death after a fish leaped into his mouth and lodged itself in his throat Friday. The man’s sister reported that her brother had caught the fish and was cooking his meal in a clay cooker. But the fish was far from dead. It suddenly stirred and flipped straight into the victim’s mouth. The man could not speak and was, according to the sister, close to death because the fish had jammed itself in his throat. But a doctor at the local hospital managed to pull the fish out safely. The physician said the man was lucky to be alive because there have been “a few people” who have died after fish jumped into their mouths.
