SUDANESE PRESIDENT SENDS GREETINGS TO CAMBODIAN PM HUN SEN

KHARTOUM, March 16 (NNN-SUNA) — Sudan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ali Ahmed Karti has delivered a message from President Omer Al-Bashir to the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen.

The message deals with developments in Sudan after the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) which ended the fighting between northern and southern Sudan, the improvement of the security and humanitarian situation in Darfur in western Sudan after the recent signing of a framework peace agreement with armed rebel groups there and the preparations to hold elections in the country next month.

During his recent visit to Cambodia, the minister of state briefed the Prime Minister of Cambodia on the economic and development situations in Sudan after the signing of the CPA IN 2005.

The Cambodian Prime Minister appreciated the initiative of President Al-Bashir for consolidating the economic relations between Sudan and Cambodia, adding that the two countries remained supportive of each other at all the international levels.

The President of Cambodia denounced the conduct of the International Criminal Court (ICC), indicating that its acts toward Sudan are politicized and harmful to justice and peace.
He said western countries were attempting to re-colonize countries through the ICC.

He expressed A desire to visit Sudan after the elections.

Karti also met THE Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
