INTERNET service provider Ezecom opened five “e-cafes” on Monday, linking fibre-optic cables to coffee shops in Mobitel service centres across Phnom Penh, according to a company press release obtained by the Post last week.

The cafes serve food and drink and provide faxing, printing and scanning services. Customers can also seek technical assistance, pay bills and open new accounts.

“These are the first cafes to be opened by Ezecom,” company spokesman Inge Olde Rikkert told the Post Monday. “We will see how they appeal to the market and take it from there.”

The outlets are located at: 46 Street 289, Boeung Kak 1, Tuol Kork; Paragon Supermarket on Street 214; 140 Street 63, Boeung Keng Kang 1; and 33 Sihanouk Boulevard.

Branching out
Ezecom also recently began providing free Wi-Fi Internet at Cambodian branches of KFC.

Internet service provider EZECOM is owned by the Royal Group, which also runs the US fast food chain KFC in the Kingdom as a joint venture with KFC Holdings (Malaysia) Bhd based in Kuala Lumpur.
