An immigration detainee is on the run from authorities after giving supervising officers the slip during a bowling excursion.
A man, originally from Cambodia, had overstayed his visitor visa and was being held at Maribyrnong Immigration Detention Centre in Melbourne's west.
He escaped from two supervising officers during an excursion to a bowling alley with another detainee on Saturday, a Department of Immigration and Citizenship spokesman said on Tuesday.
Victoria Police and the department were still searching for the man.
"The man is not deemed dangerous to the community," a police spokeswoman said.
