Judges of the Angkor Photo Festival workshop have awarded their grand prize to staff photographer Sovan Philong of The Phnom Penh Post for his series of outdoor night portraits, Rabbit in Your Headlights.
The 24-year-old whiz lit subjects with his motorbike headlights for the workshop.
On Wednesday, Philong will exhibit a series of portraits lit by his laptop for the PhotoPhnomPenh Festival, opening at 6:30pm at the Royal University in the capital.
Philong’s photography has been featured in the European press and in 2008 his pictures were shown at the prestigious Rencontre d’Arles Festival in France, where he picked up a long-term sponsorship deal.
