The relatives of a South African man who died in Cambodia earlier this month says they view the incident that claimed his life as nothing more than a "tragic accident."

Paul Hutchins and his friend André Bester were enjoying a beach holiday in the Asian country ten days ago when the jet skis they were on collided. Hutchins died in the crash.

Bester was arrested on charges of manslaughter and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

Hutchins’s body is expected to be repatriated next week.

“As a family we see this tragedy as an accident and all we can say to the Bester family is, ’We are thinking about you and praying about you’ ” said Hutchins’s sister, Beverley Tromp.

Meanwhile, support is growing for Bester, who remains behind bars in a Cambodian prison.

A Facebook group called Help Fight for André Bester has over 500 members who are posting messages for him.
