Working in an chlorine laden atmosphere which burns and tears your eyes, an extended family team salt the locally caught fish in preparation for it's export to Thailand. After the salt and fish mixture are forked and raked together, the preserved 'delicacy' is packed into 50 litre buckets and loaded onto an open lorry for overnight transport to the Thai border.

The preserved fish, now ready for human consumption, sells in Thailand for around 40 Baht a kilogram (around 80 pence). The family workers earn around $40 a month, living in rooms adjacent to their micro factory.
