A Thai soldier who was seriously injured during the clash between Thai and Cambodian troops on Sunday night has died at hospital, Bangkok Post online reported on Tuesday.
Sgt. Thanakorn Poonperm, 30, of Task Force 23, was admitted to the hospital after being wounded on Sunday night, when artillery shells apparently fired from Cambodia landed in Kantharalak district of Si Sa Ket province.
He was pronounced dead on Tuesday at Sapphasithiprasong Hospital in northeastern province of Ubon Ratchathaini, reports said.
His death raised the total death toll of Thais since last Friday to three, while 34 others injured in the Thai-Cambodian border clashes from February 4 to 7.
