Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva will pay an official visit to Cambodia on Friday for bilateral talks and to officially hand over Khmer artifacts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday.
Mr Abhisit would have talks with Cambodian leader Hun Sen.
The prime minister would have an audience with King Narodom Sihamoni of Cambodia and pay a courtesy call on Heng Samrin, president of the national assembly.
The Thai and Cambodian prime ministers would officiate at a ceremony to return seven stolen Khmer artifacts to Cambodian authorities.
These artifacts were smuggled from Cambodia and seized by Thai authorities. Their return indicted Thailand’s commitment to the agreement to combat illicit trafficking and smuggling of movable cultural property and to return it the country of origin, which was signed on 14 June 2000, the ministry statement said..
