Tuesday, 20 July 2010 15:00 H S Manjunath
Unseeded Long Samneang, who took the scalp of second seed Orn Sambath in a three setter on Sunday, got through his Cham Prasidh Tennis Cup men’s singles third round match without hitting a single ball at the National Training Centre yesterday. Samneang, who is bracketed among the Kingdom’s top juniors, was eager to get on with the job, but third round opponent Chea Savuth, a known tournament regular for many years, called up the organisers less than an hour before the match to say that he was pulling out for personal reasons. The player had agreed in the morning for the match to be scheduled at 2:30pm. Due to afternoon rain, only one men’s singles match was completed yesterday, with No 1 seed Bun Kenny breezing past Eys Sana 6-1, 6-0.
