CONSTRUCTION on Sheraton’s high-end hotel in Siem Reap will resume in the beginning of January, said a representative of the hotel’s contractor, TTY Corp. “We’re finishing up the required paperwork for December 1,” said TTY Project Manager Moinn Bin. He added the completed paperwork will clear the way for construction to resume after a hiatus caused by the fallout from the economic crisis. The Four Points by Sheraton Angkor hotel would open its doors by April 2011, he said – a four-month delay on the original schedule – adding that the physical structure of the building is already about 65 percent completed.

THE Ministry of Commerce announced Sunday that it will hold the fourth “Cambodia Import-Export and One Province One Product Exhibition” from December 15 to 18, an event it said will help build economic ties between small businesses at the local level. The four-day event, which will take place at Phnom Penh’s Mondial Centre, is also aimed at forging links on marketing and exports within Cambodia’s private sector, according to the announcement. The ministry holds the trade and investment exhibition on an annual basis.
