The market share for Vietnamese goods in Cambodia rose steadily in early 2010, making it a topic of discussion at a seminar on integrating into the Cambodian market, held in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday.
The market share has climbed by 40% over the past three years with aquatic products, construction steel and processed agricultural products taking lead from 67% to 80%, according to Tran Thi Van, a representative of the Trade Promotion Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
By the end of 2009, Vietnam had deployed 63 projects at a total cost of US$900 million in the neighbouring country.
Cambodia is among the top three investment destinations out of 50 countries and territories Vietnam has targeted. Two-way trade between the two countries this year is expected to stand at US$2 billion. (VNA)
