The Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia International tourism investment conference opened in Ho Chi Minh City on September 30, providing information on tourism development policies and investment opportunities.
On the theme of “three countries, one destination”, more than 100 delegates from all three countries held discussions with regional and international investors.
The conference also talked about linking the three countries together into one tourist destination to realize their full potential.
Representatives from the three countries believe that international investors can find many business opportunities which will contribute to developing the region. They also focused on how to overcome obstacles, such as poor human resources, transport infrastructure, and access to tourism sites.
Many measures were proposed including developing a common legal framework issuing, one visa for all three countries, coordinating tourism promotion and advertising campaigns, training more staff and creating reasonable and cheaper tourist products.
The conference is under the framework of the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Exhibition, which was organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the HCM City People’s Committee, the HCM City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the IIR Exhibition Company.
