SUSPECT ADMITS TO DIFFERENT THEFT
Herl Hean, male, 28, from Prey Veng province, was arrested and detained at Prey Sar prison on Thursday on suspicion of theft. Police have accused the man of stealing a motorbike two days prior to his arrest in Tuol Pongror village, Chaom Chao commune, Dangkor district, Phnom Penh. Police added that while in custody, the suspect also confessed to stealing US$10,000 from Tim Tun, 50, a resident Prey Veng province, last year.

NEIGHBOURS FOIL HOME ROBBERY
A Stung Treng court on Friday detained a man on suspicion of robbery. The detainee, identified as Vong Ngoun, male, 39, from Bos Leav village and commune, Kratie province, is suspected of trying to rob a house in O'Russei Kandal village, Siem Bauk district, Stung Treng province the previous day with a group of friends. The owner of the house discovered the robbers and shouted for help, after which neighbours arrived and captured one of the would-be robbers.

B'BANG POLICE BUST YAMA DEALER
Police in Battambang province raided a house in Kamakor village, Svay Pork commune on Thursday, seizing 343 yama methamphetamine pills and a package of ice methamphetamine. Kong Socheata, female, 35, who sold drugs from the house, was taken into custody. Police said they had the house under surveillance for some time after finding that several young people in the village often visited the house.

WIFE-BEATER SETS FIRE TO HOUSE, FLEES
A man identified by police as Yeung Yi, 35, from Kraboav village, Chhouk commune, Prasath Sambor district, Kampong Thom province, severely beat his wife Chou Poeun, 30, and set his house on fire while drunk on Wednesday.
