Tuesday: The day in photos - Cambodia

Los Angeles Times

Cambodian Meo Soknen, 13, stands inside a small shrine full of human bones and skulls from the victims of the Khmer Rouge. The shrine is in the Kandal Steung district of Kandal province, Cambodia. Kaing Guek Eav, also know as "Duch," the commander of the infamous Toul Sleng prison, accepted responsibility today during the second day of a U.N.-backed tribual over the tortures and executions of thousands of inmates at Toul Sleng. The small shrine, 17 miles south of Phnom Penh, is one of many monuments to the "killing fields."
