Three opposition Puea Thai Party MPs are required to report to the Criminal Court on June 8 when the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) will seek the court approval for their detention, local media the Bangkok Post's website reported Wednesday.

The three people are Jatuporn Prompan, Vichien Khaokham and Karun Hosakul, who had earlier reported to the DSI to acknowledge terrorism charges in connection with the May 19 rioting and arson attacks, DSI chief Tharit Pengdit was quoted as saying on Wednesday.

A summon would be sent to the three MPs, telling them to report to the Criminal Court on June 8, Tharit said.

The DSI would seek their detention and oppose any bail application. If the court denies bail they would be detained at Bangkok Special Prison, Tharit said.

Tharit said arrest warrants for the three MPs were not required because they had already reported to DSI investigators. The next step is to seek court approval to detain them.
