Foreign minister to attend ASEAN meet

FOREIGN Minister Hor Namhong will lead a delegation to Hanoi, Vietnam, to attend the 43rd ASEAN Ministerial Meeting and the 17th ASEAN Regional Forum, which start on July 19. Hor Namhong will hold talks with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Australian and New Zealand Foreign Ministers, Stephen Smith and Murray McCully.

Cellcard announces winner of Ford Ranger

THE winner of Cellcard’s World Cup SMS promotion was announced yesterday. Cambodia’s largest mobile provider officially handed over a Ford Ranger that has been on display outside its head office since June 10. The winner, Pe Kimeng from Depau Market in Phnom Penh, said she had entered the competition “just for fun”. Cellcard’s CEO David Spriggs said the promotion had received a “significant amount” of response.

ACLEDA launches new mobile-banking service

ACLEDA Bank is set to launch its mobile-banking service Unity today. The new technology will allow customers to transfer funds between separate Acleda accounts and complete bill payments via phone. It runs in both Khmer and English, with currency transactions in riel, US dollars and Thai baht. Bank chief In Channy said in a statement that the service was available anywhere in the country and globally for those with international roaming.
