THE tanks and armoured personnel carriers that arrived in Cambodia from Ukraine last week will be used in military exercises later this year, an official said yesterday. Defence Ministry spokesman Chhum Socheat said the military will conduct exercises with the newly purchased vehicles in Kampong Speu province in December, but was uncertain whether or not they would use live ammunition. “We have to ask permission from [the prime minister] first as shooting real bullets costs a lot of money,” he said.
