Vietnam - Cambodian PM meets VN Party delegation

Prime Minister Hun Sen, Deputy President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), on Dec. 1 received a high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

The Vietnamese delegation, headed by Hoang Binh Quan, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and head of the PCC Commission for External Relations, is on a visit to Cambodia to attend the ongoing 6 th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP 6) in Phnom Penh .

Quan expressed his deep sympathy over the recent stampede at an annual water festival in Cambodia and praised efforts by the CPP and the Cambodian Government in overcoming the aftermath of the tragedy.

He congratulated the Cambodian people on their past achievements and highly praised CPP’s works in organising ICAPP 6.

The Vietnamese Party official briefed the host about the country’s situation and preparations for the 11 th Party Congress.

PM Hun Sen said Viet Nam ’s participation in ICAPP 6 showed the traditional solidarity between the two parties and nations, contributing to the success of the event.

He said that the achievements of the Cambodian Party and people were not separate from great assistance from Viet Nam , both spiritually and materially.

He also affirmed that CPP and the government always do their best to boost the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, states and people.

Earlier, the Vietnamese delegation had a working session with Say Chhum, permanent head of the CPP Central Committee Standing Board and Vice President of the Cambodian National Assembly.
