The International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action falls on Sunday, and the work of Cambodian artists will be featured as part of programming at UN headquarters in New York. On Monday, an exhibition will include pieces by 10 Cambodian artists, including the above painting, titled “Sounds of Peace”. The artist, 23-year-old Ben Thynal, said he wanted to represent the sound of a land mine being detonated.
