FOUR people were charged with premeditated assault by the Siem Reap provincial court in the case of a fight with two military police in a dispute that left film star Sven Socheata wounded.

Touch Sopheakdei, provincial deputy prosecutor, said the individuals were arrested on Saturday morning after fighting the officials, who had been sent to break up an argument at a pagoda where around 10 people were partying after a day of filming.

He said they were charged with “premeditated assault on Sunday afternoon”, before they were sent “to the judge to decide whether they [should be] detained or not.” The judge in charge of the case, Sous La, could not be reached for comment yesterday.

Bich Savin, owner of Seven Productions, said filming could not continue because the whereabouts of injured lead actress Sven Socheata was unknown.

He said the incident would delay filming the remaining 10 percent of the movie, costing his company up to US$7,000.

“Until now I don’t know where Sveng Socheata is, and I need the apology from her,” Bich Savin said. “The money is not important, but I need my honour.”
