Bangkok-based magazine Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia announced the launch of its online guide for travel and leisure activities throughout the region, in a press statement released Monday.
The new online guide, according to a company official, aims to extend the magazine’s success in print to a worldwide Internet audience.
“Our magazine content does a wonderful job in creating the inspiration and motivation for travel. Now, the website is extending the Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia brand and message to millions more people,” the magazine’s digital media manager, Pichayanee Kitsanayothin, was quoted as saying in the statement.
The magazine, launched in December 2007 by Media Transasia Ltd, reaches readers in 12 countries in Southeast Asia, including Hong Kong and Macau, according to the statement.
Visitors to the magazine’s new site, which can be found at www.travelandleisureasia.com, can access its “branded travel search engine” to browse destinations and book transportation, accommodation, rental cars or complete travel packages “from more than 150 travel websites” accessible directly from the Travel + Leisure site, the statement said.
But the site also serves as a community forum.
“With full service details for every hotel, restaurant, club and more, plus maps for easy location, the site is set to become the one-stop shop for all Asia-related online travel queries,” the statement said.
Visitors who register with the site before April 1, 2010, earn a shot at two business-class tickets aboard Thai Airways to Krabi and a stay in the newly opened Phulay Bay resort, the statement said.
